After 17 months of higher border crossings than any month under Trump or before, the Biden WH somehow managed to do the unthinkable -
July '22 apprehensions were actually BELOW July '21. This is the first time the Biden WH has been able to get one month's apprehensions below the prior year's month.
Additionally, he's looking to tie his personal best of 3 months straight of decline, established last Aug-Sep-Oct. It should be in sight, since this is the time of year encounters typically decline.
We can only hope that the reason apprehensions are down is actual effort or fewer crossers, and not a much higher # of gotaways, aided by sending women and babies to get stuck in the Rio Grande.
Only 2 months to go in the Fiscal Year.
Single adults are setting a new all-time record - more than 20% above Joe's record '21 already!
Family units are probably already a record since they were just 2 weeks behind '21s record at the end of July. Unaccompanied minors will be real close, and interesting to see if the Biden WH does anything to try and keep from breaking the record. Of course, it's possible that we've run out of ****ty parents willing to send their kids by themselves into the wild.
