Pretty sure it isn't a welcome matt. Most likely it will be inaction and grumbling how something needs to be done and little else.

Having a Wife who was born in The Bahamas, and visiting her family who still live in the capital city , Nassau.......

The people being deported are Haitians, who come to the Bahamas, knowing that the economy NEEDS cheap labour, to be yard boys, house maids, and day labor. The Haitians work for even less money than the poor Bahamians do. They live in the bush, and stay hidden, to avoid being questioned by the Bahamian Police who are fairly corrupt, and will take a bribe on any day of the week.

In some case, the original illegal from Haiti, arrived 50 years ago, and had kids, who have NO citizenship , in either The Bahamas, or in Haiti. The kids cannot go to school ( no tax certificate ) and they can't get any kind of medical care, for the same reasons. As young adults they are either working for 4 dollars an hour cash , or if female, selling them selves to tourists, down by the tour ship docks.

The Bahamas Government is reacting to pressure from the opposition parties in Parliament, not out of any kind of real concern for the people involved. Its a show, for the newspapers, and the TV station in Nassau. nothing more.

Jim B. In Toronto.

Then, work on REALLY sealing/militarizing the border.

Enforce existing immigration law.

Work on clarifying "birthright" citizenship. At least one parent must be a bonafide US citizen.

Start serious deportations.

Yeah, pipe dream, as we know they won't do much of anything.
25% remittance tax to fund enhanced deportation efforts and increased employer checks.

Sounds familiar huh? Like O letting Central Americans know that they wouldn't be turned away at the border

I feel for the poor immigrants but as their population grows the immigrants and their supporters will determine future immigration policy in the Bahamas and here. The flood gates with then be open and thier society no longer under their control.

LOL..with Obama and his pen you don't need to worry about what the GOP will do come January.
You didn't worry for the past 6.5 years when the Dems held the Senate and House (for 2 yrs).
