It was only in the 20s that many states even began to restrict immigrant voting.

If someone expects assimilation, then voting is an obvious place to start.

That is certainly the implication. 'Illegal Aliens' have no right to vote in this country.....they have no right to even be here. OTOH, 'Legal Immigrants' have every right to vote in this country. There is a HUGE difference between the two.

An immigrant, aka someone who has obtained citizenship legally, has every right to vote, and very well should. ANYONE in this country ILLEGALLY has absolutely NO RIGHT to vote. Even to suggest this is absolutely ridiculous. You might as well let citizens of Canada, France, England, South Africa and every other country in the world vote in our election if you're going to let citizens of Mexico vote. Am I the only one who thinks this is nutty-er than squirrel turds?
