Before she had the baby, he drove her from Modesto to her native Mexico, dropping her off alone in Tijuana.

Rosa and her mother, who both had been living in the U.S. illegally, went to police and pressed charges against the stepfather, who is now on the run from authorities in Mexico. Their cooperation with U.S. law enforcement made them eligible to apply for a U visa, which gives immigrant victims of crimes, along with close family members, the chance to live and work in the U.S.

Safety for immigrant victims put on hold by U-visa delay - LA Times

Despicable crime; but, since Rosa's in the US illegally, she still needs to kept in detention since she IS an illegal alien till her trial comes up against her rapist. Then she needs to be deported along with her mother. Period.

I agree---she needs to be kept in detention but we all know that the dictator-in-chief wants to flood this country with illegals. Any immigration judge with a backbone should just send her back to Mexico.

Anyone doing something illegal or otherwise sketchy who has a hard luck story gets a pass in modern day America, at least as far as the MSM (mainstream liberal media) is concerned.

Anyone else tired of "news" stories that begin, "Rosa had a difficult childhood blah, blah, blah" -- the implication being that we must feel sorry for her and therefore let her stay illegally/lower her prison sentence/give her more money/privileges...?

This from the so-called profession of journalism; that is to say, cheap manipulation.
