SANTO DOMINGO, FEB 3 (EFE).- – The Dominican-born children of undocumented immigrants from Haiti complained Tuesday that thousands of them will remain stateless after the passing of a February 1st deadline to apply for naturalization.
Even tho I think illegal aliens are despicable: this is going too far IF the "Haitian" anchor kids are adults in the Dominican Republic. Tho I'd be Ok with sending the younger ones back to Haiti along with their parents.
Actually, this is the way it is throughout most of the world. Most countries do not automatically grant citizenship to children born to parents that are not citizens of that country. If these children are born to Haitian parents, and they are not citizens of DR, then they are Haitian.

That's right deport in 3 days along with their parents. subtract aid money to cover the cost of deportation.
Anyone think the U.S. will take in these stateless Haitians? After all, it's a drop in the bucket in terms of the number of illegal aliens already here.

If they were born in DR, there is a slight chance that they do not speak Creole; let alone French. Even in Haiti, poor folks don't speak French. I highly doubt poor Haitian-Dominicans would. More than likely, they speak Spanish.
