Default For those of you living in California...One Bill Gil is at it again!

SB 60, Senator Gil Cedillo's effort to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens, passed the state Senate last year. It also passed in Assembly committees and could now receive a floor vote with no advance notice.

Despite the overwhelming opposition of California voters, the legislature has repeatedly passed variations of this benefit to illegal aliens (our efforts have helped to convince Governor Schwarzenegger to veto these bills previously). There is a danger that the Assembly could move quickly and quietly while the media and voters are preoccupied with the presidential primaries.

SB 60 requires the DMV to issue a license to illegal aliens that would be valid for driving but not for federal identification purposes. Federal law does not require issuance of these second-tier licenses, as Senator Cedillo is leading many people to believe.

To take action:

Californians for Population Stabilization - CA Alert! Driver's license bill still alive in Assembly!

If they end up issuing a license to illegals I hope other states don't honor them. Or these things will start showing up all over the nation.

The way things are going perhaps we should build a wall around California.

If it is a California license all states must honor them, unless the licenses they are issued looked differently which there is a 1 in a million chance they will. Why are we so worried about this? Illegals drive all the time. They will continue driving whether we like it or not. Giving them licenses is yet another way to put their name in the system.

gee,, wonder how many amnesty "illegals" voted in Ca. for this.
All the havoc being spread by illegals crossing the border, will ONLY end when we CLOSE the border! Take the 445 million dollars spent on benifits for illegals and USE it to build the wall!
If every REAL American gave one dollar in helping the wall/fence get built, it would have been built ALREADY!

It seems everyone complains about how uninsured illegals hit someone they know? No license means you don't have insurance. Illegal Immigrants need a pathway to Citizenship, these continual oppresive measures are only hurting the Republicans. This country is very balanced out between Democrats and Republicans with votes. WIth the spike of green card holders getting citizenship, it's obvious Latinos are getting overwhelmed by illegal family members being in harm's way of all these anti-illegal immigration laws. Make them pay a fine, learn english, give them citizenship. America needs these workers, there's not enough legal workers to do blue collar work. Republicans have not recovered from Proposition 187 in California denying illegal immigrants certain rights. There was a spike of Latinos gaining voting rights after the Prop passed, hurting republicans in the next elections.

Why lock your doors? Thieves steal all the time. They will continue stealing whether you like it or not. Locking your door is just slowing down their burglarizing of your home.

I'm glad you agree - maybe you could leave the door open, and have neon signs with blinking arrows pointing out your valuables. Based on your justification for giving licenses to illegals who are not here legally to begin with (which is why they are illegal) we should just roll over and allow lawbreakers to practice their craft with as little obstruction as possible.

Hmmm.. giving them a way to identify themselves. "Hi my name is Jose Ramirez". This is what city I live in, this is the street I live on. What is that? he have a SS#. What is that your illegal? We'll just pull your name up in the system, we know exactly where you live and we will deport you. Really this could end up going the other way for them.

We don't want to make them documented by putting their names in the system. We want these criminals south of the border. Not north of the border with a license they shouldn't have in the first place.

Throw them in jail, seize their assets (especially their cars if they are driving without a license), then toss them out of the country.

Your provide resolutions with no arguments on how to go about doing so. "We want these criminals south of the border" says nothing on how to deport them. Don't you think it would be easier to find them if their names were in a system with their addresses? Or are you suggesting fishing in a lake at night?
