Cripes; Canadians should start swimming the Niagara.......naaah, prollly not!

The title to the thread is erroneous as there is no such thing as a Latin country and hasn't been for millennium.

Why jump into freezing water to swim when there are so many bridges they can drive/walk across unhampered? A crowd of little brown Latinos stand our far more than a group of English speaking Canucks.
Who will the border agents detain, a $$$ Lexus with 5 well dressed English speaking white people or the rusted-out Ford van with 15 shabbily dressed Spanish speaking people who can't converse with the agents?

Relatively generous welfare benefits.

Couldn't be because of the welfare and handouts in the US now could it?

2) If things were truly so dangerous in central america, why are the illegal aliens willingly leaving their children - the most important thing in most parents' lives - in these "war zones" while they head up to the US? If these areas were truly as dangerous as they claim, what kind of parent would willingly leave their children in such a terrible place for YEARS while they sneak into the US?

Could it be that they are lying, and that these areas are not as dangerous as they claim them to be to US border officials?
I've wondered that myself.

How come the leftwing media in this country is so unwilling to ask and investigate these questions?
This liberal would like to know as well. Not just the "leftwing" media but the mainstream media as a whole.

My x-mother-in-law lives in Tela, Honduras.......she had six adult children.........five are now in the USA.

That left 11 children for her to care for........but, they are where better off because their parents could send money.

As soon as the children get old enough........they will come to the USA.

I just hope they do it before they have children.........to leave with my x-mother-in-law.

This is an interesting question and reminds me of another illegal immigration talking point. Many Mexicans claim they have a right to come to the U.S. because we "stole their land". However, Guatemala was once part of Mexico yet Mexicans seem to have zero interest in going there to re-claim what's "rightfully theirs". Go figure.......

Interestingly similar to the arab muslims' claims on Israel; some people come, and through their hard work, they build a nice country, so the arab muslims decide they have to tear it down because it exposes their crap culture. I believe there are similar attitudes of the central/south americans: they've already destroyed most of the hispanic countries, so they cannot accept the existence of a successful caucasian one in the form of the US, so they are sneaking in en masse to destroy it from within. Once can see a bit of this with the black africans moving en masse to europe.

These mass poor cannot build their own countries, so they have to destroy others to lower them to their level.

How is it a better life without the nurturing of a parent to raise them and love them? Grandparents can be loving also but they can never replace having a mom or dad in your life. Money isn't everything.

Maybe because Guatemala's still a dump in 2015 and Mexico really doesn't want more Indians? I really don't know.

I think you're right. Kinda like hood rat Black people and the crab pot: when 1 or a few people of their "race" or "culture" try to step up and take care of business, the others will TRY and many times succeed in dragging those strivers back down. OTOH: word is that when groups of Jews, Chinese, Nigerians and some others try to better their lives in the US; their own people will try to HELP them do just that.
