I am getting tired of hearing the lies that the GOP is composed of only old white people. So what if demographics are changing? A lot of it is changing via illegal immigration and they can't vote. So just what are you getting at? How are the Teapartiers dooming the GOP? Please be specific.
White voters are dropping? Whites still outnumber all minorities combined. Why is race even being mentioned anyway?[/quote]
White voters = 60 - 40 (approx.)
Non-white voters = 30 - 70 (approx.)
If demographics are changing, that is very important.
You're missing the point though. Should our politicians be thumbing their noses at our immigration laws for anyone? The only demographics that are demanding that our politicians do so is one particular ethnic group and yes they are growing but is that reason not to uphold our country's laws as they are sworn to do? Illegal immigration is very bad for our own citizens. Aren't our politicians supposed to put them first?

Uh; it doesn't matter since Hispanic ain't a race and, they ain't reliable "Dem" voters unlike Black people. You gotta remember that anglo whites are the BIGGEST by 6 to 1 the main group of people here in the US and a BIGGER percentage of voters. Back to Hispanic people; even their birthrate is crashing like a rock, especially if you take out the illegal ones.
If you wish for your pols to commit career suicide, OldGlory, suggest it. In 1986, St. Ronnie passed amnesty; we're still the world's best economy 29 years later.

Uh; that was about 30 years ago. Remember what happened about 10 years ago when those illegal alien fools started DEMANDING amnesty? That pissed off a LOT of us who didn't have much of a problem with illegal aliens before and, we're STILL pissed to the point that ANY "legal" trick in the book to chase their kind out of the US is now Ok.
Some people just don't get it, no matter how much you explain it to them.
The Hispanic voting bloc amounts to 10% of all voters. That isn't a hill of beans. Plus, as Packard fan pointed out, not all of them vote straight "D".
Even if the Hispanic voting bloc amounted to far more than 10%, no politician, on either side of the aisle, should ever pander to lawbreakers. Period.
BOS2IAD, Obama w.o Latinos split the popular vote. 73-27%, 46% gap * 12 million Latinos = a 5 million Obama edge, just about what he won total popular vote by.
Ronald Reagan only amnestied 3 million illegal aliens (but he thought it would be only 300 thousand) and our population was much smaller and our economy was not faltering as it is today with fewer jobs for Americans. So no, our economy is not the best for our own citizens right now. That's a huge difference between the at least quadruple the number of illegal aliens we have today along with our economy and population numbers being quite different. He was betrayed by congress that the border would be secured and look what we have today! He was wrong to grant amnesty just as Obama is wrong today.
It's political suicide to want to enforce our immigration laws? Really?
Reagan's era saw unemployment at its lowest, 5.3% barely below todays, and at its worst, under St. Ronnie, 10.8% (3.4% worse than the day he was sworn in).
Yup.Ole Ronnie figured out that deporting 3 million was not workable...and the present dudes think they can do 11 million.
And then Ronnie led the screwup that caused the present build up. Too bad he did not do his job and get the Congress to do the same.
