Its a lie that its "unworkable". If the federal government can tally to the penny the taxes owed on over 150M tax returns each and every year, surely it can manage to deport 10M people, even if those deportations all require some paperwork and administration.

It is simply an issue of they don't WANT to enforce their own laws.

This is what cartels do - they create law ad hoc and do whatever suits their purpose. They have no code and no honor.

And that is the US Federal Government....thieves....liars....murderers.....

Too; the cartel thing in Mexico didn't get real bad till about 10 years ago, that's when we were being overrun by those lawbreakers. Hell, word is it that immigration from Mexico BY Mexicans is now almost "0" with about as many leaving or being deported as coming here. It's other "Hispanics" who are now the big problem like those "kids" from further down in LatAm last year.
But US jail is NOT Mexican jail is it?

Do you know what they have to endure in order to cross the desert? Have you seen what the streets in some of these towns are like? The illegals think our jail is Holiday Inn in comparison.

Yeah, you think THAT is going to scare them. Funny.

It's unworkable because it is duly EXPENSIVE and labor INTENSIVE. Who's going to pay for it? Oh wait... ME!!!

You conservatives like to talk budget deficit but never pass up a chance to throw money down the toilet.

Cheap labor wouldn't be able to find jobs here? LOL.

That's a big wrong leap of faith. They is always a demand for illegals' labor. You can pass as many laws as you like but you can't fight demand and supply.

LOL. Basically you're proposing a technology that doesn't actually work at the moment. Nice.

Btw, as a person in the trade, I can tell you these "tweaking" can takes forever to iron out.

Please tell us, what, exactly, are you have a problem understanding? You keep making excuses for illegals. The border needs securing. Dems promised that it would be secured when the 1986 amnesty was passed. They also promised that no illegals will ever find work. We were also promised that the '86 amnesty would be the only one ever. However, since then, there have been several stealth amnesties.

It's long past time to end this madness. You may feel sorry for illegals. If so, please move some into your own home.

I have no problem understanding at all. It's you guys, who need a serious lesson.

LOL. Taking 8 millions workers out of circulation? What is that going to do to labor cost? Ever think about that? You're basically creating more incentive for people to hire illegals. I can tell you now, millions of American business owners are going to stick their middle fingers at whatever law passed and continue to hire illegals. All this supposed law does is to force them to consolidate and implement a more elaborate system to hide the shenanigans.

I don't feel sorry for illegals. I actually don't really care one way or another. But when stupid ideas are presented (usually by the right), it just needs to be countered with reason and common sense.

What will it do to the "labor cost"? Why, employers will have to pay Americans and legal immigrants a living wage!

BTW, those 8 million no-match SSNs desperately need to be taken out of circulation. Many are engaging in ID theft and others are using fake SSNs. Both these actions leave the true owners of those numbers in a world of hurt. There is a loophole in the law that says it's okay if someone uses your SSN as long as they don't use your name with it. Thus the SSA won't notify you if someone is using your SSN. You only find out when the IRS comes after you for not filing a tax return on a job you never worked.

Once E-verify is tweaked and is made the law of the land, employers who refuse to use it will be fined. Before Obama became president, ICE regularly did raids of businesses. On the day of the raids, Americans would line up to apply for those jobs. They don't do raids now but they do audits. Where I live, a local restaurant was discovered to have 100 illegals working for them. The illegals got fired and were replaced with Americans and legal immigrants.

So, basically, you support employers using cheap, exploitable, illegal labor. Okay. Got it. Personally, I find that practice to be despicable.

You do feel sorry for illegals as you try very hard to defend them and make excuses for them and those who employ them.

What the left proposes---amnesty and open borders lacks common sense.

FYI, even Homeland Security has stated that it is cheaper to deport them than to allow them to remain here sucking up jobs, taxes and resources that belong to Americans. This isn't a conservative vs a liberal issue. It is an American issue. Deporting illegal aliens or taking steps to ensure they will self-deport is not throwing money down the toilet it would increase our tax revenues by ridding ourselves of these leeches and thieves. You conservatives? FYI, it's not only conservatives that post in here or are opposed to illegal immigration.

Good post and the poster you are replying openly admits that he doesn't care about our immigration laws which makes him a part of the problem with an anti-American agenda to allow them to remain here. It's the typical illegal alien rhetoric that we have heard over and over in here.

If laws don't work then why have "any" laws? Sure there will always be Americans that won't follow them but the fact that they are in place with penalties for non-compliance reduces the number of them that will break our laws. That is our goal in the case of illegal immigration by implementing e-verify and removing the incentives for them to remain here is to "reduce" the number of them here or new entries. I refuse to reply to these types of posters anymore.

Just wondering what other Federal law on the books do we simply throw our hands in the air and stop prosecuting altogether, simply because it's impossible to catch everyone?

Capital Murder?
Treason?
Money Laundering?
Child Abuse?

No, you align your resources and do the best you can to investigate, apprehend, try and sentence offenders. Our current administration is failing to pursue known immigration offenders, either through incompetence or deliberately, neglecting their sworn duty to uphold the laws of our Nation, you decide. It doesn't matter which.

What matters is that the end result of this dereliction of duty, causes harm to our economy, our Federal budget, our integrity and our social well being, not to mention innocent legal bystanders victimized by people who are not just here illegally but commit violent crimes while they are here illegally.

Ok Stop. You are exhibit A of why conservative news outlet, obviously where you got your information from, is not to be trusted.

Homeland Security said no such thing
. What you are thinking is a study by the partisan Federation for American Immigration Reform; a group that has its own agenda on kicking out illegals. And even they estimated that it will cost roughly $100+ Billions. That's billions with a 'B'.

You are half-way there. When one solution doesn't work, what do you do? You look for alternative solution.

LOL. Let's recap:

Liberal: I don't really think too much about illegal aliens. I'm too damn busy for that.
Conservatives: You're Anti-Americans!! You're unpatriotic!!!

GOP Senators: We are actively undermining our own President and sabotaging foreign negotiation that helps our country.
Conservatives: You are so patriotic!!!

You're "too damn busy" to care about illegal immigration. Then you are a part of the problem.

Now, let it go. You've made it clear that you don't care to educate yourself when it comes to illegal immigration. Plus you dismiss out-of-hand groups like FAIR. I say thank Heavens we have groups like FAIR!

Like many of us have said before: E verify, empower cops to arrest ANYbody here in the US illegally, make "sanctuary" cities illegal and so on. MOST illegals WILL leave.

Remember Arizona about 2007? Many of their kind left here with some going BACK home.

Exactly, make it clear that they aren't welcome here by enforcing our immigration laws internally and at the border and remove all of the incentives for them to want to remain here or to continue to come here. All Obama does is promise stays of deportation and amnesty which is quite the opposite of what he should be doing by encouraging them instead. There are virtually no expenses involved in self-deportations.
