Los Angeles news stations are reporting that illegals have been returning to Mexico, self deporting. Now, with L.A. (big sancuary city) willing to report this, we know that illegals are returning in in more than small numbers.
Michael Chertof is repeatedly speaking of illegals being deporting and making it mandatory for employers not to hire them. Bush adminstration wanted other than this but large majority of citizens do not.

Self deportation is happening in Arizona - The Arizona Republic has done several articles on this.
Several schools are reporting reduced student population. Again, articles on this in the AZ Rep
Employer Sanctions law is in effect - One employer has already been charged. More employers are firing employees - etc -
Mexico better face the reality - THEIR citizens are "coming home"

I still maintain that when California turns against illegal immigrants; it will be sudden and fierce-------metaphorically speaking, like one of Calif's natural disasters. The impact will be that strong.
The clock is ticking as we speak.
Ironically; the San Diego area will be least affected due to many of their 'Hispanic' help already living in Tijuana and working in SD-------legally.
Thats another way to go about it but could cause some strain on the economy.
All sorts of things strain the economy. So what? We all don't live our lives according to dollars and cents. Some of us put things like love, kindness, laughter, and respect above financial concerns. Some of us are principled. Some of us realize that without principles, a society is destined to fail. Now that - a failed society - would put an enormous strain on the economy. Heck, look south to see the effects of failed societies.
any new immigration laws will not improve anything when it comes to illegals... NOT giving them a job, NOT giving them free services, and especially NOT giving the the right to those who sneak cross the border only to give birth.. knowing thier baby will get automatic citizenship, Changing this law especially.. will reduce the numbers all on thier own. These two important issues, NO jobs, NO right to automatic citizenship if mother is NOT a legal citizen to begin with.. will make a huge difference in the totals. But these two major things HAVE to be nation-wide, otherwise there will be jumping from state to state. No hiring of illegals and NO automatic citizenship of baby's born here from illegal mothers should be a federal Nation-Wide Law. They are all aware.. it doesn't matter if they get pregnant IN mexico..getting here, giving birth will also insure them themselves not getting deported because of having children here, so the cycle continues. Passing these two important issues into a nation-wide law.. would not costs Americans by the way of tax dollars.. as would trying to round-up and deport, future welfare and education dollars (automatic citizenship) and so-on. So why not get these into a nation-wide federal law?
#2: even on the off chance you call it right, many employers will still be scrutinizing SSN's much more closely so many illegals will continue to self deport.
Not trying to sound 'flippant' here, but why go to the expense and trouble of "throwing the law out"?....Wouldn't it be easier to just ignore it? Seems to work pretty well in similar cases.....just wondering.
