Are you serious? We have talented Americans with good skills. The only reason that "immigrants" get hired over Americans is that they work cheaper not that Americans are inferior, unskilled workers.


There are unlimited visas for legal, foreign crop pickers so there is no reason to hire illegals for those jobs either except for pure greed on the part of the growers. All of the other jobs you mentioned have always been done by Americans for a fair wage. Since when haven't Americans been willing to do construction work and yes they are skilled at their jobs.

A consumption tax, aka a progressive national sales tax, replacing the current income taxes would take a key advantage of illegal immigrants away... Paying people under the table avoids income taxes. A progressive income tax would make it a lot harder to cheat on taxes.
