Of course. Virtually all of our population growth since the 50s has been due to immigration and children born to immigrants. This has been documented numerous times. Take that factor out of the equation and we would be somewhere around 160 to 170 million people here today.

This is exactly why our immigration policy, (or lack of enforcing one), is so dumb. We had two and a half billion people on the planet in 1950. By 2050 we are estimated to have something a little short of nine billion people here on the planet. So realistically, no matter what we do, we're not ever going to make even a slight difference in the lives of the vast majority of human beings on this planet. So why are we trashing our economy, and very way of life, all while sacrificing our borders, language and culture for some multicultural utopia that makes our leaders feel all warm and fuzzy?

Just remember, the name of the thread is “U.S. baby boomlet-More American babies were born in 2006 than any year since 1961”. The question asked by the OP was “Do we think the Illegal Alien invasion could have a lot to do with this?”.

The only support/blame for illegals was in the link you provided based on 2002 numbers which only contributed this reference to the number of illegal births:

We have previously estimated from birth records that there were 380,000 births to illegal aliens in 2002, accounting for nearly 10 percent of all births in the United States.

However the OP report does give one conclusion which was:

Birth rates increased for women in their 20s, 30s and early 40s, not just teens. They rose for whites, blacks, Hispanics, American Indians and Alaska Natives.

So my answer to the original question is no, the 10% that illegals add to the population increase does not have A LOT to do with the increase in US births as it seems everyone else was popping out babies too.
