It's the Spanish speakers that refuse to learn English. The other immigrants are both willing and able to learn the language of this country.

If you want to bring up skin color -- immigrants from African nations are also far more willing than Spanish speakers to learn some English.

hey i'm spanish and learned english so it's not everyone.that's the problem a few refuse to do it and becomes that we're all like that.

It's great that someone wants to learn other langauges, but our langauge is english.

I speak German and Gaelic ( dead language taught to me by my grandmother) and of course neither does me any good here other than to **** of the Spanish speakers that expect me to know Spanish. The get REALLY mad when I answer them in German!!

Yes they do. I love to answer in a certain American Indian language and Russian. They always look at me in a befuddled manner, more befuddled than usual that is.

We have alot of people from Russia here, I don't know how many are legal but alot of them are painters and roofers. I have yet to meet one that doesn't speak English, maybe not well, but they will only speak English at work. To me that shows respect.

Exactly. I learned a bit of Russian for when I went there to visit a while back because I did not expect anyone to speak English like the arrogant SPB types who expect us to speak their broken Spanish.

I learned German to be able to speak when I visit the family. Everyone I met was very pleased I took the time to do that and was able to converse well with them.

i speak english am i not showing you respect.it's not just hispanics.
