Parts of BHC do look that way, you are correct.
Difference is one can buy a decent, late model trailer with its own fullsized lot for well under $100K these days------try buying a hovel in Tucson for the same money.
Too; BHC has a real river flowing by-------another strike against Tucson IMHO.
As for the summers; yes, I will definitely give Tucson the edge there------you guys run about 10F cooler.
That stated: in my eyes; Tucson looks really unkempt in the center city area......the word 'ghetto' comes to mind

And; I lived in BHC from February 2005 to August 2007, left there due to the party animal attitude------not because I could not survive (and prosper) in that area.

LHC used to be nice------till the California, etc. money came in; forcing up housing prices dramatically yet not pushing wages upward to compensate.
As it stands: the LHC housing market is crumpling as we speak

The housing market is crumbling everywhere, but it has not had a negative effect on me which is fortunate.

The housing market only affected some parts of the U.S, a lot of large cities remained unaffected.
