Not everyone can be in the same position, for many different reasons. I do have respect for any American who is working, don't care about their job title, or salary, their working. What I hate is lazy people, and people who think they are owed.

Agreed. Anyone working deserves respect instead of sponging off the system. Not to mention many illegals are unsanitary.

Default California!

California is a trickly place. I love visiting SD and Mrs. Ghost has be SF many times on business. (Which we owed State Taxes for a 3 week assignment)

I wish California would follow Federal law instead of making it as they go. I do or see the DOJ suing Ca.

It would live in California if it was not so left and even can be a Socialist State.

This Restaurant is a Hero in my book.

This is great news! I was wondering if it got out by word of mouth that they were only hiring legals, because obviously one couldn't advertise that for fear of being sued.? Thanks for sharing that good news with us.

My daughter was living in AZ when AZ made E-verify usage state law. The restaurant chain she worked for uses E-verify all over the country. She told us that they never had a problem finding Americans and legal immigrants to take their jobs. In fact, one day they had a middle-aged American woman apply to be a dishwasher. They asked her if she would rather be a server. She said "no", she wanted the dishwasher job! So much for jobs Americans won't do.
BOS, I didn't know AZ. used E-verify. What did the illegals there do, move? I wonder if any other states use it. I would patronize that restaurant also. I think I would even thank the owner for the patriotism they are showing.

Me too! People who think they're too good to be around people who hold jobs in lower positions are missing out. Most of those people aren't dumb, it's just circumstantial. I'm of the belief that you can learn something from anyone!

Me too. I live in Illinois where we have way too many illegals and citizens on welfare instead of working. There is no shame in taking any job. A few years ago I lost my job and took anything to survive. Yes I have a masters degree but who cares?

Jess5 --- When AZ enacted state-wide mandatory E-verify usage, lots of illegals did leave the state. People who live in AZ (especially in the Phoenix and Tucson areas) reported that when the illegals left, some elementary schools closed. Also, some neighborhoods almost became ghost towns. Landlords who were renting to illegals lost their tenants and couldn't find new ones. Some were so desperate to have their properties occupied, that they looked for people to live in them rent-free. The trouble is that those neighborhoods were still bad ones even when the illegals left so very few people wanted to live there.

I don't blame you. The invasion cheerleaders and reconquistas can get really nasty. I would hate to see this restaurant owner get harassed.

Still, I hope that you are able to patronize this restaurant!
