The costly and cumbersome process had discouraged hundreds of thousands of returning migrant children from going to school in Mexico, or meant they could only audit courses without official recognition. Hundreds of thousands of children have returned to Mexico, mainly from the United States, after their parents were deported or chose to return.

The Education Department published changes to the rules on Monday, saying its goal was to make education more accessible. The department also dropped the certified-translation requirements.

Mexico drops certification requirement for US-schooled kids

Good. I'm glad Mexico's stepping up to the plate and starting to take care of its own.

My question is why would these deported parents leave their kids in the U.S. in the first place? Didn't they by their own choice separate their families then?

This is my thought: They planted a "seed" in the US that way. I know here in town, they live probably on the average 3 families to a household (in a one family dwelling). That "seed" has the potential to bring in that family later on or produce income to send to the family members deported to Mexico.

You really got to wonder about all this crap of making a better life for their family when they have children here to produce more income and when they abandon their children here when being deported. It appears to be a whole different dynamic at least for this particular class of citizens coming in illegally.
