Default Mayors Blast Congress for Delaying Immigration Reform

Quote:
Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon joined mayors from across the country Friday , complaining that Congress is unlikely to act on the nation's immigration problems this year and blasting lawmakers for what they called irresponsible procrastination.
``The message that immigration reform _ comprehensive and practicable _ is not going to be addressed for a year or two is unacceptable. It's outrageous,'' Gordon said at a news conference in Washington, D.C. ``This country is in an economic, public safety and a social crisis because immigration hasn't been addressed at the level that it needs to be addressed at _ and that's at Congress.'' Gordon is in Washington for a U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting. He and other mayors were told in meetings on Capitol Hill that immigration changes would not be addressed this year

Now, Phoenix PD officers are being trained like the MCSO deputies - they will be federally sworn officers. If the Phx PD officers encounter an Illegal immigratant - the will be detained and turned over to ICE

Gee - its great to see what happens when citizens get all over the case of their elected officals

Congress listened to the people when they called in by the thousands to protest the legislation.

Politicians bringing up illegal immigration issues= No Votes!
It has been a hush hush factor.. agreed between all those running.. NOT to bring in illegal immigration topic to the forefront.. anyone running knows NOT to say or even speak of the word "amnesty". They have all agreed not to use illegal immigration as an issue.. it would make such a stir.
