If you mean they'll self-deport, I disagree - it's still better here than it is there, plus there's always some employer here somewhere who's game. And business will pick up again here sooner than it does in Mexico.

Excerpts:

Mr. de Alba said the Mexican government would like to make Dallas a pilot city for a 17-point education plan that includes expanding a teacher exchange program.

and

The foreign minister praised Mr. Leppert's call for "comprehensive immigration reform" and policies in Dallas "aimed at improving the quality of life of all Mexicans living in that city."
Absolutely amazing!! The residents need to be calling and writing this Mayor and let him know this should not be. Dallas, a pilot city? Give me a break!! How about Mexico work on their own schools, their employment and the mess they have in their country!!!!!

I assure you, it won’t be "better here than there" if, as projected, 12 million U.S. citizens become unemployed by late summer. It won’t be safe either.

I really like the way you put that, and I agree completely. I read a message here that illegal immigrants are coming here to "pick the fruit of America." I wrote that poster that the only "fruit" of America is the Americans who kill themselves working to provide for their families and other benefits for American citizens.

I think the illegal immigrants returning to Mexico in any appreciable numbers will only come about if the US and Mexican governments work out some sort of deal that makes it worthwhile for the immigrants to return home.

Worthwhile for them to return home? I would think that self-preservation would be a strong motivator.

And Benicar is correct IMHO. Note too she is not a 'blunt' poster either.

As several of us anti illegal immigration types have discussed in the past: what does concern me is innocent* people who look 'Latino' (olive complexion, dark hair and eyes) of any actual race/ethnicity may be in some danger as a group for obvious reasons.

*I am referring to US citizens/green card holders as well as people visiting the USA legally.

Who said she was?

I didnt say anything about who would or would not be danger or why, either.

Calm down.

I stand by all that I stated.

Suffice to say: I hope that cooler heads prevail and sanction against illegal aliens are harsh (within legal bounds). Up to and including eliminating the Anchor Baby loophole.
