The parents in the lawsuit entered the country illegally from Mexico and Central America, but the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment guarantees the right of citizenship to children born here.

Judge: Texas may deny birth certificates to immigrants' kids

Illegal aliens: just leave, Ok?

No, the 14th Amendment does not grant the right of citizenship to kids born from illegal alien parents (so no, they aren't the kids of immigrants). This has been discussed in here over and over.

Nonsense. Just complicating what should be simple.

The kids are Americans beyond any doubt. Texas is just deliberately complicating them getting the documentation to affirm their status. We should all be annoyed at TX for mistreating American Citizens.

I'm annoyed at allowing US born kids with 2 illegal alien parents to get birthright. It's def past time for the US to join other decent countries like Ireland, Japan and so on in stopping birthright unless at least 1 parent's a citizen of the country being talked about.

Go ahead. Be annoyed. But that does not in any way justify Texas giving American Citizens a hard time.

The law is what it is until it is changed...which is not going to happen. And until then Texas should try to follow the law. And you should insist that they do.

Perfect! How many of these illegal aliens kids will you take in and feed, clothe, and provide medical care for? Please post your address or a picture of a check you are sending to the Immigrant Apologists Union to finance your buddies so the rest of us don't have to, because WE did not vote for this.

You wish seriously to discriminate against American Citizen Kids based upon who is their parents?

You buying sheets and hoods as well? Maybe burn a cross or two?

The kids are not American citizens. The 14th Amendment was passed to give slaves and their descendants citizenship. The Supreme Court case of Wong Kim Ark, a Chinese immigrant, determined that the children of LEGAL immigrants born here are Americans. The citizenship of illegals has only been assumed, never adjudicated by SCOTUS.

Where is that mentioned in the 14th Amendment? I read it over and it makes no mention of this....it simply states if you are born in the US, then you are a US citizen.

If we're gonna go there: deport the parents who are here illegally and have CPS collect the kids under 18 years old.

Birthright: it WILL go away. Even Ireland killed it about 10 years ago.
