Well in AZ it is a high demand market , well atleast it was!!!!!! And these houses were not in the best areas and not in perfect condition, many of us wouldn't want them.

Well the article didn't mention what type of rentals they were so one can only assume they were the type no one would want. If the landlords did in fact rent to people they did not feel would have enough for security then that is the risk that they take on to begin with. So it goes back to those who took the risk in the first place and rented the units to high risk renters no matter if they are legal or illegal. Just like the whole sub prime mess - risk takers accept the outcomes good and bad. Both renters AND landlords are at fault. End of story.

I feel if someone is illegally here, they should not be allowed to rent anything on u.s. soil. that only adds to the ease of illegals implanting themselves without having gone thru legal due-process, and it also has a bad impact on those who come legally. Legals will suffer more in the long run due to, supply and demand. The more heavy influx of illegals shortens the jobs,housing,and other supplies for those of legal statis.

I agree, HoustonCynic

Unfortunately, most "risk takers" (your term, not mine as I have a better name for them) usually are taking risks with someone else's money . . . rarely their own.
