DURHAM, N.C. — A day after Gov. Pat McCrory signed a bill prohibiting so-called sanctuary city policies in North Carolina, Jose Lopez, the police chief in Durham, was assessing the effect it would have on this city, where, for the last dozen years, police officers have been instructed to limit inquiries about a person’s immigration status.

Does it matter? IF in the US illegally; people NEED to face the real fear of being picked up and deported instead of being shielded.

Agree. How simple do they have to make it?

I noticed one holding a sign "No human being is illegal." Doesn't matter what the signs say or what you call them, they have entered the US illegally and under our immigration law, they are criminals that are to be expelled from the country. It doesn't matter if they committed other crimes, whether they are "good" people, etc. There are citizens that are basically "good" people in our prisons, citizens, but they broke the law and we have a procedure to deal with that.

Notice all the children in the picture. Why do they do this? I guess they think it will tug at Americans' heartstrings, but most Americans--even the diehard apologists for illegals--are against using children as cannon fodder. I guess this is OK behavior in their countries.
