This I will say: the tipping point between a Third World country and a First World one seems to be the equivalent of a solid 8th grade education for everyone.

I figured as much. That's why, reading your OP at face value, I sadly had to go with "Televised Football"

Don't get me wrong; I love football myself, but c'mon! This is our national sovereignty and cultural survival at stake

I fear the USA is right around the point now where the Romans were, in about 408 A.D.

Now that I've heard (from a doctor on television talking about help for heart attacks) that some men with chest pains at footballs games waited until the game was over until they told someone that they HAD chest pains, it might very well be football.

Using the Rome analogy; I am leaning more towards 100 A.D.------we still have a century or three left.

Now; if we do not secure our borders/make it extremely difficult for illegal immigrants here.........all the bets are off.

I see people on television getting dressed up in some sort of outfit to support their favorite team -- then they go hooting and screaming to a stadium or sports bar where they get about as excited as a person can possibly be -- over a child's game. On the other hand, how many people take to the streets to protest immigration with the same ferver?
Football is a spectator sport. Illegal immigration protests are not. You present a false comparison.

Furthermore, most women are not football fans.

I hate football, I hate all sports.

One more benefit of having NO men in my house, no sports, EVER.

The sports nut at home is my girlfriend; me, I don't give a rat's ass-----never mind I look like a football player.

I visit several forum boards and talk with many people in person.. Football is seldom the topic of conversation. However the illegal invasion is very high on the list of conversation where ever I go. Along with which candidate will be most likely to do something to get control of our borders. Personally I think all of those who could have and would have done something are no longer in the running. But that's another topic for another day.
