Tegucigalpa (AFP) - Honduras said Monday it was preparing for the return of thousands of its citizens following reports the US was planning a mass deportation of Central American migrants fleeing violence and poverty.

Honduras; thanks for stepping up and taking care of your own people.

"Fleeing violence" is too general and vague. I'm sure that the drafters of the immigration laws had something like warfare and armed internal strife (not just gang violence) in mind when carving out this exception. But its being taken beyond that now.

They need to fry the corrupt leaders, in Honduras. They have let it become like El Salvador with 24/7 gang members running rampart. The women police the younger ones to try to keep the towns balanced. Here is where I'd hurt the leaders financially big time! Make them fix their country.

Not sure that is what their plan is. It might well be that they plan on turning them away at the border.

According to the article Hondurans here send $3 billion back to their homeland in remittances. They only make up a small percentage of illegals here. Imagine what Mexicans and other illegals send out of our country that isn't spent in our economy.

Impressive! I was just thinking, if all of these illegals are allowed to come here and stay, they bring their problems with them to our country. When our country becomes unbearable, where will we go to seek refuge or asylum? I guess we better clean it up before it goes that far.
