This is the kind of thing that almost makes you want to vote for Donald Trump, just to respond to the sheer chutzpah of some illegal immigrants. A group of illegal immigrants have decided to sue the State of Oregon because Oregon voters have decided to pass a law forbidding illegal immigrants from getting driversí licenses.

Illegal Immigrants Suing The State Of Oregon For Not Giving Them Driver's Licenses - Fox Nation

What you illegal alien criminals NEED to get are arrest and deportation, NOT US drivers licenses.

This is interesting. Would you please let us know how this turns out?

You would think that if they go to court admitting to be here illegally they should be deported by the courts rather than be given consideration on any other matter. Maybe our U.S. legal system is our biggest problem.

I don't get it.... Driving is not a "Right" but a privelege. If I break the law by not paying tickets, driving drunk, or any other amount of law breaking when behind the wheel guess what when I go to renew my license I will not be allowed to.
Some states have linked other things to your license like if you are caught drunk boating, or if you don't pay your child support or your taxes and fees if you have a business.

We have so many laws that prevent people from getting or renewing a license if they run afoul of the law that no one blinks an eye at it. We all seem to realize that it is common sense. You break the law that affects your drivers license you have to straighten out the problem before you get a license..

SO a person is ILLEGALLY in the country yet they somehow think they are entitled to a drivers license?

So when they go before the judge with their lawyer at their side why can't the judge ask for the plaintiff to prove they are in fact legally in the country? If yes then they have a right to be in that court. If NO then they should be hauled off and held until they can either get their paper work in order or they get shipped back to where they came from.

Are the courts not overwhelmed enough hearing cases from citizens never mind a group of people that shouldn't be here in the first place?? Stop wasting the courts time and tax payers money.

You hit the nail on the head -- Our Legal System is one of our "Biggest Problems", aided and abetted by Corrupt Judges, Corrupt Federal Attorneys and Corrupt US Department of Justice. A main thing I want to hear from a Candidate for President is ..... "The rule of LAW will again mean something and be followed".

I can tell you now how it will "turn out". Congress passed a law in 2005 and signed into law on May 25 of 2005, called the Real ID Act. Part of that Law (which Homeland Security has delayed implementation of) is that States must obtain Proof of US Citizenship for their Driver's Licenses. It's a Phased In compliance with a multitude of Extensions for Non-Compliance. TSA has just about run out of time .... and so have the Non-Compliant States.

Data requirements
A Real ID-compliant form of identification requires the following pieces of data:

Full legal name,
Signature,
Date of birth,
Gender,
Unique, identifying number,
Principal residence address,
Front-facing photograph of the applicant.
Said cards must also feature specific security features intended to prevent tampering, counterfeiting, or duplication of the document for fraudulent purposes. These cards must also present data in a common, machine-readable format (bar codes, smart card technology, etc.). Although the use of wireless RFID chips was offered for consideration in the proposed rulemaking process, it was not included in the latest rulemaking process.
Documentation required before issuing a license or ID card

Before a card can be issued, the applicant must provide the following documentation:

A photo ID, or a non-photo ID that includes full legal name and birthdate
Documentation of birth date
Documentation of legal status and Social Security number
Documentation showing name and principal residence address

Hard to believe that any Lawyer would take this case OR that any Judge would rule in favor of Illegal Immigrants having a Driver's License - when it is against Federal Law.

In view of the Paris Attacks, San Bernadino Attack and all the other Terrorism "work place violence/lonewolf" attacks ..... TSA/Homeland Security is moving forward on State Compliance. They will soon begin rejecting certain State's Driver's Licenses as ID for boarding airplanes.

T.S.A. Moves Closer to Rejecting Some State Driverís Licenses for Travel |New York Times - 12/28/15

Most States have "extensions", which all run out sometime in 2016. 4 States (New Mexico, Washington, Missouri, Illinois) have extensions that expire in Jan 2016, but will be allowed a little time - just about time enough to apply for a Passport, probably not enough time for the State to come into compliance for Federal Travel restrictions.

Heads Up -- where does your State stand and what do they need to do to comply with the Real ID Act?

Footnote - Isn't it interesting that Homeland Security & the DOJ is fighting Courts/States on Obama's Executive Actions for Amnesty of Illegal Aliens ..... when we have a Federal Law they are deliberately ignoring. I think TeamObama is now Terrified of another Terror Attack in the USA under his watch. It's probably too late for him to be Leading Behind on this one.

I actually hope they shine a light on more of these cases, to show the American people that illegals are not "living in the shadows" but demanding privileges and trying to overturn the rule of law. I can't help but wonder if Trump's popularity is behind this. Illegal aliens and their advocacy groups will scramble to entrench themselves in American society as much as possible. If you have to argue your case at a deportation hearing, better to say you have a driver's licenses with a clean record for X years, and a child at a public university, etc. etc. than to be completely off the books. It's like when you're young and you get a credit card and utilities in your name to establish credit. They want to erase any distinction between what citizens can have and they can't, to make it look like they are citizens too.

Isn't there a requirement of legal standing to bring a lawsuit? by their very existence here (illegal) they lack the standing. If the court system had the guts to actually follow the law.

If only. They are suing in states all across the country for various reasons: driver's licenses, in-state tuition, American birth certificates for their children, etc. So far we have been operating as if they have the same constitutional rights as citizens. I don't know where or when that was decided or by whom.

The standard is that if you are stopped in a traffic stop and they run your info and you turn out to have outstanding crime, you get detained and dealt with. So, there is no logic in this. You're giving a criminal a driver's license when they should be apprehended and hauled back across the border.

The great thing about timing on news like this is that it puts more votes in the pockets of ALL politicians that are ready to kick them back to where they belong. We need to make ALL of our politicians aware of what we want done.

Liberals, ethnocentrics and those who hire them decided all this quite a while ago with the blessings of our corrupt politicians in exchange for money, power and votes.
