Puerto Rico's decade-old economic recession has led to a mass exodus of people from the troubled island to the United States. Along with the dramatic increase in migration from Puerto Rico, there has been an equally dramatic increase in the number of cases involving the use of fake Puerto Rican birth certificates by illegal immigrants.

This WILL tear la raza apart right there IMHO. Who will they defend: American Hispanics or illegal aliens from LatAm. ALL Puerto Ricans are US citizens.

Yup. I've posted before how the Puerto Rican government had to take the unprecedented step of declaring all PR issued birth certificates null and void due to the large number of native-born PRs who have been victims of ID theft by illegals.

My Dad has his original birth certificate issued when he was born 90 years ago. I've told him how it is no longer valid and he says he doubts he will ever have a reason to use it again in his life. I'm sure that's correct, given his age. However, like the link mentioned, it's now making things difficult for younger native-born PRs.

It's scary to think of how many illegals have gotten passports using a stolen or fake PR issued birth certificate. I've heard that some middle easterners have tried passing themselves off as Puerto Ricans.

Meanwhile the feds knew what the PR government did but instead of clamping down on illegal immigration, they just allowed things to fester, even making it worse when Obama dictated amnesty and work permits for DREAMers.

Even worse since he has given a stay of deportation for 5 million illegal aliens with U.S. born kids.
