A woman age 55 from South America who has no papers has been renting a room in my house for several years. I felt sorry for her. I am moving out next month and have rented my entire house to a new family. My current roommate is refusing to leave. HOW CAN I GET HER OUT?

Sounds like you were a facilitator and an enabler. Glad to hear you are reaping what you have sown. Learn from this and next time respect our laws.

Yes - I helped someone in need. Sometimes I make errors.

Get a lawyer, you may have to evict her. Ask this same question in the Renting forum under Real Estate.

If you facilitate the violation of American law, what else should you expect?

Good! I hope you fail in renting the entire apartment. Serve you right for helping an illegal. I believe for some reason they call this poetic justice.

You can turn her in to ICE/Police, but you might get arrested. It should be illegal to knowingly harbor and PROFIT from an illegal immigrant.

In the Real Estate Forum, you posted you have been renting to this woman for the past year.

"I allowed a lady to rent a room in my house last yr for very little money because she had no place to live."

If your intention is to rent the place out 3/1, your best bet is to pay her. Even then....she may balk.
Eviction will take much longer than your window of opportunity.
