Again, this video, in context, is Ted Cruz offering a "poison pill", which is an effective way to "kill" a bill.

Marco Rubio, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Jeff Flake voted for the Gang of 8, having agreed with the Democrats on a plan to kill almost all of the GOP offered amendments. Harry Reid determined how many amendments he would allow to come to the Senate floor.

Grassley offered an amendment, which Ted Cruz supported, which prohibited legalizing illegal immigrants in the US until after the administration could prove it had maintained "effective control" of the borders for six months. Ted Cruz voted for, Marco Rubio voted against.

Sen. John Thune offered another amendment which would have required completing 350 miles of fencing which, in 1996, had been ordered, but not completed, including in the amendment that it must be finished before legalization. He also offered, in the amendment, 700 miles of fencing be complete before any permanent legal status be made for any illegal immigrants. Ted Cruz voted for, Marco Rubio voted against.

Sen. David Vitter offered up an amendment that would have required delaying legal status until a biometric visa identification system was ordered and "fully" implemented by Congress. Ted Cruz voted for, Marco Rubio voted against.

Any amendment that would break up the Gang of 8 deal was voted against. Marco Rubio can run from that record if he would like to try.

It was Ted Cruz who stood strong wanting only to defeat Amnesty, standing for "legal" immigration and not "legalizing" illegals.

Because these amendments were shot down, it PROVED that the Democrats and the Gang of 8 wanted Amnesty/citizen voters and that the Republicans wanted workers for their crony capitalism.

Ask yourself ONE question - If Ted Cruz supported Amnesty, why did he work so hard against it?

All of these Amendments that Cruz voted for were merely things that were to be put in place "before" any amnesty, though. So what's the difference? One thing I will have to correct you on is that it isn't only the GOP that wants cheap, illegal labor the Democrats are just as guilty.

The politically correct crowd has called all those a racist , those who want Americans to be first to benefit from their own country. Many Americans of all races have been put on the back burner as the dems take care of the illegals first.
