In the parlance of the social-services field, we (the USA) are Mexico's "enabler". Just as the well-meaning wife of the abusive alcoholic can 'run interference" for years, shielding him from the consequences of his behavior (interceding for him with his boss, the police, his creditors), so the "well-meaning" US, by taking in 10% of Mexico's poor, BEFORE they can get to be a 'problem' at home, 'enables' the abusive rich of Mexico to continue with 'business as usual'.

If Mexico was next to China, it would have NO CHOICE but to clean up its act in a HURRY--or suffer a violent revolution. But as long as the US offers an easy "safety valve", why would anyone want to change?...

So you saying the next President wont listen to the people? The same people who are in the majority of wanting to deport and stop illegals from coming into our country?
If this is true, then the next President wont be doing what the majority of people elected him to do, protect our borders! After all they will be the commander in chief first and that job is to protect us even if it is from illegals from Mexico.
This article is hogwash and is amied at people who cannot think for themselves and not aimed at those who vote according to the value of one of the top issues in this election. ILLEGALS !

Off course the president has to protect the borders, but he also has to establish some sort of legalization program for those already here. The majority of the people you are talking about rejected your stance on immigration. If they agreed with your views on immigration, they would have elected tancredo, hunter, romney or ron paul. It's okay to admit that the majority of americans don't believe in deportation.

Very good article by Cynthia Tucker who is by the way a black woman.
Meaning that the next President plans on giving amnesty, which we already know by looking at the prospects.

He/she does not have to establish a thing for those that are already here at all. You are dreaming to think that our country has to do a damn thing for the illegals. The Congress will try again, and again we will beat them back with our sticks. The President can't sign a bill that has not been passed. The President is nothing but a person who gives speeches and works to better his/her party. Look at what happened to Bush and his ignorance when it came to illegals.

WHY does he HAVE to? you mean another amnesty free-for-all!
why?, so we can do it again and again and then again until NO ONE
is left to give amnesty to! Why?, so all the prior mexican amnesty and
anchor babies can have ALL thier illegal relatives here on welfare too!
Your either for amnesty and all the abuse that goes with it.. or
for Americans well being.. not amnesty citizens or anchor babies. They
only are u.s. citizens on paper, not Americans! IMO.

When did i ever say i was for mexican illegals? I wonder what your obsession with mexicans is all about? I'm not for amnesty either, i'm just looking for a common sense approach to solve this complex situation. I'm all for securing the border and punishing employers who hire illegal imigrants BUT there has to be a way to legalize the hardworking undocumented immigrants already here. We don't gain anything from deporting the hardworking, crime free undocumented immigratns.
