I don't understand who it is that is letting this continue since they know these tunnels exist:

'A candy store for smugglers': Step inside the million-dollar drug tunnels that 'riddle' the US-Mexico border - San Antonio Express-News

I know that the CIA, the current director was getting all "mouthy" about not following Trump's orders on waterboarding but maybe this is an answer, he simply doesn't want the border shut down.

Yeah, they don't care at all about securing the border OR shutting down the drug traffic.

Too much money to be had. Plus they can easily "bust" someone who gets too big for his britches and get on TV and claim another "victory" in the "War on Drugs"

Tunnels are the liberal response to "Lets build a wall" If you build a wall they will dig a tunnel underneath it yeah but it will cut down on the people strolling in.

Why don't they dynamite the tunnels? There is technology out there that would allow them to find the tunnels then blow them up.
Drugs are such a huge business but who is benefiting from it? The cartels? The dealers? The hospitals/ insurance companies? The Police/ DEA/ FBI/ CIA ? Certainly not the average citizen they are paying a high price.

Imagine the country if the wall was built, the tunnels destroyed the flow of drugs and illegals slowed to a trickle. Even if both were cut in half our country would be a better place. Imagine what we could do with the freed up resources.

Allowing the border to stay open is good for business. Follow the money.
