SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Officials in famously progressive San Francisco have long sanctioned protections for people in the country illegally, going so far as to prohibit city workers from asking about a person's immigration status.

But the deadly shooting of a 32-year-old woman along a popular pier last year and the arrest of a Mexican national sparked a national debate over how the city handles such criminal suspects, putting San Francisco's leaders on the defensive as critics and outside politicians called for a change in the so-called sanctuary law.

I'm of the opinion IF another decent person gets murdered by an illegal alien in SF that things WILL get ugly real fast against people who support illegals.

How many murders does it take for the City to wake up? Not too many years ago, a father and his two sons were murdered by an illegal alien who had been deported several times. Where is the outrage? I am embarrassed to be part of the SF Bay Area where criminals have way more rights than honest law-abiding US citizens who reside in SF. The only way this will change is if someone in City government loses a loved one through murder by an illegal alien.

Phooey on this Sanctuary City status. The federal government needs to crack down ASAP by blocking any federal funds until this ridiculous status is changed.

Outrageous, I say!

I don't disagree with anything said.

I'll just add that it's all part of a larger agenda to have massive immigration from one country to another, erasing the power of sovereign nations. The goal of the global elite is to make people want a global government (dictatorship--although they may try to create it as a fake democracy). Same kind of engineered crisis is happening in Europe with the Syrian refugees.

I hope it does blow up. We the citizens are going to have to move out of our comfort zones and start seeing the agenda for centralized global control for what it is. The immigration issue is, of course, just one piece of it.

Evidence? Sources? Genuinely curious.
Also, I'm supportive of a new world order if it's done in a way that respects earth and life on it. I don't think it has to be a bad thing, maybe the global elite know what they're doing. Maybe not, could be terrible.
Also, one bad event shouldn't ruin prosperity and fulfilment of others in my opinion. Safety can't be guaranteed anyway and shouldn't be, it's unnatural.

They ain't waking up until reality strikes them when it's too late. By then, the city will be lost.

If i do visit California in the future, it's going to be around Yreka and Redding. Maybe even Eureka and Crescent City. but that's it.

Uh; NO countries allow just anybody from anywhere to move in cause it'd be too hard to keep things under control.

Yes it is, although the "1 World / New World Order" is a multifaceted beast. Mass immigration from one country to another is only one piece of it, but people seeing this issue for what it is is a good start.
