Murdered Woman's Family Sues 'Sanctuary City'

Gross negligence here. I hope the family wins the suit.

From the link:

Quote:
Kate Steinle's family filed a wrongful-death lawsuit on Friday against Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Bureau of Land Management, and San Francisco, which, under a "sanctuary city" policy, ignored a request to notify ICE when suspect Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez was released, NPR reports. The lawsuit, which also names former Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi, states that the city's policy of not sharing information on undocumented immigrants with federal agencies was in "direct contravention" of federal and state law, reports CNN.

I hope they win, and I hope it sets off a wave of nationwide lawsuits against sanctuary cities.

Hope they win 100 million in punitive damages. San Fran will be screaming for ICE to come to the city and deport the illegals.

It is terrible and senseless what happened to that young woman and her family.

We have laws for a reason and it is one thing for a criminal to ignore them because that is their nature by definition so what the city did by ignoring the immigration status of that murderer is criminal.

I hope they win the case and receive some solace and when they do win it will be a wake up call to other sanctuary cities.

I would say a sanctuary city could be accused of aiding and abetting fugitives from federal justice.

I sincerely hope this sets off a wave of lawsuits against every sanctuary city in the country. Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Baltimore, Denver, Miami, Chicago, Charlotte, Boston, Newark, Albuquerque, Raleigh, Alexandria...Every. Single. One.

And if the Steinle family loses their suit, then we can only hope the Karma gods strike San Francisco's leaders down. And very hard.

If the trial is held in San Francisco, they will lose. Amazingly uber-liberal city.

Hopefully a judge with common sense is the decision maker

I am so glad this lawsuit was filed, and I have no doubt the Steinles will prevail, especially against the City.

The Board of Supervisors has decided to keep San Francisco a "sanctuary city" after all. Even local radio talk show hosts on the far left are disgusted with the Board's decision.

I have yet to hear one sane reason why we should continue the sanctuary city status. (And yes, I know the reasoning behind it.) In the meantime, our casa is their casa and there ain't a thing we can do about it.
