With that in mind, The Fix reached out to Father John Olenick, pastor of Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) Roman Catholic Parish. Visitation BVM, a multi-ethnic church in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood, is a place where each Sunday, multiple Masses are held. There are three in Spanish, one in English and one in Vietnamese. The church is also one of 19 member congregations in the New Sanctuaries Movement. (More information below.) When Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced in January plans for mass immigration raids, New Sanctuary members and staff set up the emergency hotline and "Know Your Rights" training sessions for undocumented immigrants.

ICE: you have NO business "tipping of" lawbreakers; illegal aliens ARE lawbreakers! Sheesh!

People do realize that the point of the santuary city status is that illegal aliens can report crimes without the fear of deportation.

There's NO reason why any illegal alien can't be deported. Period.

Like they'd really do that. Doesn't matter, they shouldn't get a pass on our immigration laws by being criminals ratting on other criminals.

Yeah, how well does that work in a no-snitch culture? Besides, they can report crimes anonymously without sanctuary status. Anyone can.

That's a lame excuse for violating federal immigration laws.

They wouldn't have to fear deportation if they stayed in their own country.

They keep telling us that excuse, yet I have yet to see any evidence that this policy reduces crime or leads to putting away criminals that would otherwise get away scot-free.

Exactly. Just like offering drivers licenses to illegals was all of sudden going significantly increase the number of illegals insured and make them better drivers. Pure BS.
