...What's left of congress?

If Obama's immigration actions are upheld, what's left of Congress? | TheHill

From the article:

In a well-functioning republic, knowledge that the public opposes an idea would be enough for the executive to stop promoting the unpopular idea. But ours is not functioning with the interests of the electorate as the guide. Millions of foreigners who believe they are above the law are being backed by monied interests seeking cheap labor and/or constituents for their cause, and these interests have armies of lobbyists pulling strings on Capitol Hill. Congress has largely allowed the White House to enact immigration policies that the legislators themselves could never put into a bill, lest they be thrown out of office by angry constituents.

-------------------------------------

And then there is this:

Now more than ever, Congress needs to be responsive to the people. But it cannot be if the Supreme Court largely strips Congress of its authority over immigration and empowers the executive branch to a greater extent than it already has.

--------------------------------------

So, in other words, if SCOTUS sides with Obama, he can do whatever he wants when it comes to the illegals This is beyond sickening.

The decision by the Supreme Court is supposed to be made this month. With 8 justices it may end up in a tie and then the lower court decision will be upheld which is a good thing.

Fingers crossed on that one. I still don't understand how Obama has been allowed to act so independently. It just seems that Congress has rolled over on their backs and wet themselves in the presence of Obama.

More disintegration of balance of powers. And if they're on Obama' side then any democrat could do anything freely. Democrats would be free to wreck the country further with their inept policies and turn us into another Venezuela. Chavez also appointed judges that would defend his policies. And now look....

When he has an Attorney General in his pocket anything is possible: Idaho ‘rape’: Obama prosecutor ‘silencing Americans with threats of arrest’!. When you look at the rape of the five year old special needs girl in Idaho; it is easy to understand why our President is getting his way. His reactions are swift and unforgiving to those that question his judgements. It would not surprise me if he doesn't try to deport Michele Bachmann for stating that the perpetrators of the Idaho attach should be deported!
