San Antonio's Hidpanic community is overwhelmingly domestic. San Antonio has very few foreign born residents including Mexicans.

There would still be crime, but less. Rents would drop, that's for sure. Some unliveable places would become liveable again.

i do not understand how Cubans are allowed to stay and Mexicans and others have to go back, often to worse conditions than exists in Cuba.

The same with Haitians--why do they have to go back and Cubans allowed to stay when conditions are much worse in Haiti?

Politics. Cuban equals communism.

I've spent a lot of time in San Antonio so I know it's always been heavily Hispanic.

I have family down there and they guffawed at the 70k figure.

Just because there are many of Hispanic heritage that live in San Antonio and have been there for generations doesn't mean there aren't many that are there illegally also. The whole southwest is loaded with them. New Mexico is known for the same thing with a high ration of both. Their skin color is irrelevant.

The Hispanic community in San Antonio is ancient. The Mexicans there, for the most part have been there for generations. San Antonio also doesn't get all that many Mexican immigrants to begin with. Houston and Dallas are MUCH bigger immigration cities for Mexicans.

Considering well over 90% of the Hispanic community in San Antonio is Mexican, my point is still very much valid.
