This law Zero Tolerence has been on the books since the early 1950's.
No new immigration laws needed.. Just inforce existing laws.

Thumbs up to this effort, I wish them luck! Too bad there aren't more who feel the same as this congressman.

This is kind of old news, Lou Dobbs interviewed this congressman in November, I believe. But yes I agree it is a very good thing.

Is this anything like that "zero tolerance" War on Drugs? I hear that's working just swell.

We can't even keep people from crossing the border with bundles of coke on them....what in the hell makes anyone think we're going to stop the people themselves?

I think the concept of o tolerance is a good one...leave it to Texas to set the standard. Arizona is not Texas. No body messes with Texas, but in Arizona illegal immigrants are flying the flag of Mexico, demanding to be spoken to in Spanish, taking advantage of every public resource and marching in the streets with Americans looking on in disbelief. Arizona has almost 100% tolerance that is with the exception of Sheriff Joe of course. He has become a local hero of sorts. Good luck Texas...maybe Texas can turn AZ and CA around. It is clear if Clinton or McCain gets in as president America will have two offical languages and all the monolingual English speaking population in America will be second-class citizens, but I am not at all sure Obama is pro Mexico. After all he is the son of an immigrant who's father was compelled to speak English. I don't think he will except anything less in resolving the illegal immigration issue. He is for a compassionate solution, but enforcing the law too.

Funny you mention foreign flag flying. I passed by Smart & Final last tuesday on a routine ortho appointment and saw about a zillion French flags being flown all over the place. Who'd figure?

We won't be able to as long as people/ Government don't try. and it looks like Government wod't do anything unless we stay on them about it, the way we did with the last Amnesty bid.

I find it hard to believe you don't know that AZ is one of the states who is actually doing something to win the battle against illegals. Several states are jumping in to take care of the situation now.

He'd better be careful referring to illegals as thugs and criminals. Clearly that's xenophobic hate speech. If Rick Perry finds out about this, he'll put a stop to it.
