Exactly... if they aren't able to work they'll self deport.

What is a sanctuary city? What legislative body gets to make that determination? How does the federal government "punish" a city?
Cut off their federal funding until they comply. ALL of it.

It costs more to keep them here than to deport them. And remember, if you amnesty the ones here, that sends out the bat signal for millions more to come.

Even Homeland Security has said it cheaper to deport them than to allow them to remain here. Yes, that was proven since 1986. Now we have at least quadruple the number of illegal aliens here. Rewarding law breakers does nothing but encourage more to break the law.

Arizona has e-verify. It has been very successful in the fast food industry opening thousands of jobs for teenagers. But employers in the better jobs like construction get around it by using "sub-contractors" who hire illegals for a job and independent contractors who are officially self-employed so the employer does not have to do any verification of them. It all proves that no matter what you do, short of tossing them out, they will find a way to get around the laws.

In other words: E verify HAS hurt illegal aliens here in Arizona, def a good start.

It does not appear that DHS ever suggested it is cheaper to deport than keep the illegals. Some numbers from DHS have been taken out of context by the right wing to attempt such a conclusion...but it is a flat lie and would never work in practice.

You are welcome to cite an official DHS source but don't waste a lot of time as there is not one.

And if we continue to delay the illegal total may well climb. All because of the RW know nothings resisting a fix.

Sub contractors are also employers. If e-verify is mandated in every workplace they would have to comply also.

Quite impossible to enforce. The sub simpy vanishes if a problem occurs. New sub in the morning. Standard way of doing business in the construction industry and others. Only real fix is to do away with subcontractors and independent contractors. Try and get that to fly.
