That's one thing about me my family. Even as kids we never pay attention the color of a persons skin.
Our favorite singers back in the 50's and 60's were the Platters, in fact it was all of the AA groups. Even after watching them on Lawrence Welk,we didn't realize they were Black until we were older. Even now, it's a feeling I couldn't change if I wanted to.

One favorite,

LOL, now I think about it, as a kid my family watched the American shows that we got in Oz, and just thought of them as "Americans" - you're right, colour didn't even cross my mind.

"many cannot grasp the understanding that the American "pie" has finally been cut in ultra-thin slices, that all of those who were first at the bounteous table, got the biggest slices and now there are but crumbs left."

Are you sure? From what I saw on the youtube videos posted on this thread more than half of the immigrant haters were at least in their 50's. This means they will be dead soon, (relatively speaking) leaving an empty seat at the dinner table. Of course you'll need to add more high chairs to the equation since they have more babies.

FYI, the menu will be changing to "the whole enchilada."

Of course in every race, there will be exceptions to the rule. However here and now in 2010 we really should be over the issue of race, whether someone is Gay or Straight, Catholic or Jewish, does not matter, what matters, is what lies beneath one's heart. I do not dislike Obama because of the color of his skin, his politics now that is another story!

"Immigrant" haters? I don't know of any such people. I do however, know of many who object to illegal aliens. Blurring those lines again? Those non-hispanic Americans in their 50's have their own children and grandchildren to seat at the dinner table. Yeah, let's add more high chairs as we are already at over 300 million people in this country. Nice to see the concern for overpopulation in this country by the uneducated and unskilled.

Your dreams of a pure Hispanic utopia will not come to fruition. Hispanics are intermarrying with other racial/cultural groups. The menu will likely include pot roast, fried rice and chitlings.

Never did mine either. Being from Michigan I grew up with Mo-town music and I loved it! Still do.
