Paving the way to Aztlán with propaganda, politics, racism (broken link)

Mexican, white, non-white depends where benefits are

In the 1950s, the LULAC recognized English as the official language of the United States, emphasized the importance of citizenship, supported immigration control and mass deportation of illegal aliens.

They even began all of their meetings reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Today, the LULAC supports the theory Hispanics are victimized by white people.

"Mexicans" were counted separately, for the first time, during the 1930 Census. Because Texas was segregated, Mexicans felt they were losing their status as non-white and might face the same conditions as blacks.

The LULAC succeeded a few years later in having Mexicans recognized as "whites" again, and treated that way for segregation purposes.

Then, 40 years later, after affirmative action programs become introduced for blacks, the LULAC and La Raza lobbied successfully to be recognized as "non-whites" so that Mexicans would be recognized for racial preference purposes.

They ebbed and flowed with identity, insisting they were white when there were advantages to being white. When benefits associated with being non-white surfaced, it was time to change color again.

Default Academia Semillas - Charter School in East Los Angeles, CA

This is a charter school under the umbrella of the LA Unified School district which teaches kids the Aztec language and pre-colombian culture as a way of "empowering" them. They also have a culture of reinforcing "white oppression of the brown man".

Default If you really want to be technical about it...

They are descendants (as are Native American Indians of various tribes) of the Asians from the Bering Straits across the Siberian Land Bridge which came down through Alaska and populated North America.

The blending between European and African comes from the later years of colonization.

Furthermore, there is no such thing as "race" anyhow everyone on the planet is related by DNA in some way shape or form.

So, in order to get benefits from the U.S., even if they are MEXICANS, they decide to use the minority card? Why would that mean anything? Do they mean LEGAL Mexican immigrants? Otherwise, if they're Mexicans, they live in Mexico.

Anyway, affirmative action was only meant for African-Americans with whom we have a long history. NOT for someone who just walks over the border and "instantly" becomes a minority for benefit purposes, legal or not.

Yeah, think I'll move to Saudi Arabia, and claim to be a "minority" and demand benefits.

I think the point the article was making is that they changed their identity to be classifed as "white" when it suited them to not be grouped with black people and put in a minority status. But when it suited them to take advantage of special programs put in place because of racism toward blacks in this country, they decided to be chameleons once again and say they're Hispanic and therefore a part of an ethnic minority because they were missing a piece of the pie they thought they were ENTITLED to.

It's all about ENTITLEMENTS.

These are the people who believe Aztlan is in the Southwest USA and they are going to reclaim it. Entitlements...

Using the Aztecs as an example; they never ranged as far north as our Southwest-------so, the had no claim to it prior to the Spaniards coming.

In other words: 'Aztlan' is a fraud.

Besides: methinks the Navajo, etc. may not take kindly to Mexican domination either------too much historical bad blood.

They are not the only ones who have bad blood with the Mexicans. The Apaches have much bad blood with them, as do other Indian tribes.

Funny you would see the touch of Africa in this part of Mexico.
