I'm going to break this down in simple terms so even you can understand this. A great many "illegal immigrants" have valid drivers licences and state IDs (many so-called illegals were previously legal residents). A great many US citizens do not speak English (ever heard of Puerto Rico?). We also have no legal requirement that people cary proof of citizenship. Do you propose that every man, woman or child stopped by police be detained until they can provide a birth certificate, passport, certificate of naturalization or green card? Just a little bit of thinking to tell a man of intelligence that this is nowhere near feasible.
We know who those people are smart guy.
We now know the illegals that have gotten drivers licenses. Millions of them in fact.
I will also break this down in simple terms for you. Under lawful contact anyone can be asked for ID. No one is required to prove they are a citizen of this country just that they are here legally. Yes, green card holders are required by law to carry their green cards with them everywhere. That's what enforcing the laws of the books means.
I have no idea why you brought of language into this discussion. No one is suggesting that if you speak a foreign language that automatically makes you a suspect in the eyes of the law.

They clearly just want to be soft on crime . I have no idea why . Unless one is a criminal or has a criminal mindset why would you want to be so soft on crime?
Under lawful contact one can be asked for anything. One however is not required to answer or provide any ID. If the officer has a reasonable and articuable belief that a crime has been is being or is about to be committed he can request your name and you are required to provide it. That is it. A suspiciom that an individual is an illegal alien does not meet the reasonable standard.

The constitution is annoying to those that want a stronger police state. The Bill of Rights was explicitly written just in case the Federal government grew too oppressive. No, it wasn't necessarily written for "illegal immigrants", but to do what the OP wants to do, it'll be national stop and frisk on steroids.
If the Bill of Rights will be cast aside when it's convenient for police and politicians, lets start calling it the Bill of Privileges.

And then when the Police arrest them...where do they go. ICE? Then you have to pay ICE agents and Immigration courts and holding facilities and jailers. Where do you get the money? Talk to Ryan...
You poor folk can't seem to get your minds around it. You have no popular support...you have no legislative support...you have no support anywhere.
And blocking a conclusion merely open the possibility for another onslaught. And you folk on this one.

Not really. Its just like any other crime. And if feds put warrants out then all it is a cuff and transport to the jail.
Now that cannabis is legal and decriminalized it will be a trade off.
