Actually most insurance companies do have a clauses that could void your policy if you allow an unlicensed person operate your vehicle and they are involved in an accident or stopped by the police.

If its a case of a stolen vehicle, then its not the owner fault. But if they knowingling allow an illegal to drive it, then the vehicle should be impounded and sold. And if the owner of the vehicle was an legal alien, then ship both thier butts back to mexico and they lose thier citizenship for ever.

Last night I buy a cord of firewood, the guy and gal delivering it miss the gates by 20 feet and hit my sons car, no license, no insurance, the police won't even come out, how do they seize their vehicle if they won't come out?

Sounds like a fabulous idea to me. Any and every way we can make it hard for illegals to live here, the better.

Blacknight you appear very sympathetic to illegal immigrants and you go out of your way to defend their behavior. Tell me why is it that if they are so beneficial and they do not cause as many problems as legal immigrants why are not more countries seeking them out as immigrants. I mean you would think countries in need of kick starting their economies would be dispatching ocean liners to Mexico and other Latin American countries to pickup hard working and law abiding immigrants to shore up their economy. We the US should not be so selfish to take the lions share from Mexico.

The fool would be the legal citizen who puts themselves at risk.

I'd be happy if ALL the states would do this. It won't ever happen here w/Spitzer as governor. We all are going to have to get enhanced licenses so we aren't taken for illegals -- or else carry our PASSPORTS!

Hispanics are soon to be the majority in NYC. Most of them of course are illegal.

Being that Puerto Ricans are a significant minority in NYC; and that all of them are already US citizens, what group of 'Hispanics' are you referring to?

Don't just stop at seizing the Illegals cars, seize everything they have right down to the last roll of toilet paper!

Remember, they are good people and they are only here to commit the crimes that American criminals are too lazy to commit.

Legal or Illegal, they should have proof of insurance the moment they cross the bridge. Also, it is a good idea for cops to run your plates and find out if you have insurance or not, no need to have an excuse to pull you over to find out if you have one or not.

Good points. If someone loans their car to an unlicensed driver, or someone who wasn't listed on their policy, they desrve to have it impounded.
