The vehicle seizure would work much the same way as property seizures in drug cases. But under the bill, if the owner of the vehicle presents a sworn affidavit that he or she did not know the driver was an illegal immigrant, they would get their car back, Mills said.

This bill has no teeth, it's only a feel good policy. All an illegal immigrant has to do is register the vehicle with a legal citizen.

Then both of them need to be kicked out of the country and all of their possessions sold off and the money given to the poor here in the USA.

This is a good policy -- I can see that in case of auto theft, the owner should be able to get his vehicle back.

In other cases a thorough investigation should be made -- if the car owner was an employer of the illegal -- then they should be slapped with a huge fine for fraud and for employing illegals.

And if someone is giving permission to unlicensed drivers to drive their car -- there must be some kind of law on that that needs to be enforced. And the fraud if they had insurance but for drivers they didn't list on the policy.
