"I think this wall thing is foolish because if they already have all this, why do they want more?" asked Esperanza Preciado, 19.

Preciado -- who was entering the United States carrying an infant to visit her father -- has a legal permit to work cleaning homes in San Ysidro.

"But I have a lot of relatives who do not have papers and I fear for them," she said.

Most of us DON'T care about your relatives IF they try to get in the US illegally.

I would gladly trade one of them citizenship so I could have an affordable house on the beach and cheap food.

But alas, Mexico is mean and wouldn't let me.

I'm amazed that people act like it's a right to DEMAND a residence in our country. Maybe it is time to take down the statue of liberty since those days of open, empty land we need to fill are long gone.
We can replace it with a picture of a hoarder. lol

I actually don't know what to think. I have a sympathy for people who are struggling for basic needs and would like to come here. And there is a little bit of fear of loosing our own stuff if things get out of control. Home values, school district rating, kids education, economy and Job all of them are so interrelated each other. What happens if you happen to get large immigration community into your area. It is going to affect school ratings, kids education and home values.

I wish politicians find a way to help every one without hurting no one. Now we have one side who wants to stop at all cost and other side wants to welcome everyone. No one is thinking about tax payers and affect. Isn't it a smart move to come up with a plan to give citizenship to law abiding immigrants and stop people coming in until we take care of people who already in.

Illegal aliens aren't law abiding "immigrants".

Law abiding immigrants already have a well defined path to citizenship. You can see swearing in ceremonies all over the country on a fairly routine basis.

That's not what we're talking about though. We're talking about illegal aliens. They aren't immigrants.

Hilarious! Obama went above the law via DACA and DAPA to meet their arrogant demands and they feel betrayed? It doesn't get more loony than this folks. This is what happens what happens when you coddle law breakers in the first place instead of enforcing the law.

Poor and struggling Mexicans need to stay and fix their own country instead of taking advantage of our country.. Instead of reforming their corrupt government, they have become dependent on America subsidizing their poor and unskilled people. We are the welfare system for Mexico.

Other people mistreated or neglected in their countries revolt and demand reforms. The Mexicans can do it too.

What if the countries where these people are coming from took care of their own poor. They have money especially those countries that have our companies move out of the country into their country.

Law abiding immigrants, legal immigrants get citizenship. There is an established path for that. My DIL did this and is now a proud American citizen working as a nurse and perfecting her English.

Not from the minute they enter the country without authorization.

Maybe if people got this, they might understand the problem better? As we know, liberal media attempts to blur the lines between illegal aliens, calling them "undocumented immigrants" (many steal the identities of American citizens though so aren't undocumented). With a little education, maybe the liberals would come around. Maybe it is just ignorance that is making them look so ridiculous.

I know! They keep talking about needing "immigration reform" when all we need is to enforce the laws that have been on the books for some time!

It is easier to just come here with their bellies full of anchors and hands out for public assistance.

Mexico loves those American dollars being sent home to relatives in Mexico as do the leaders of the other foreign nations that benefit from the burden of their citizens living in our country mooching off of our citizens!

Law abiding illegal? Really? I don't think so! http://cis.org/myth-law-abiding-illegal-alien
