I googled and came across this. It doesn't look like the state itself is on board with sanctuary cities. I suppose just like the others that the politicians are getting their pockets stuff with cash in order to support a sanctuary city because big business and the wealthy exploit these illegal aliens and are reaping the benefits that we pay for.
There are some large cities in more conservative states that fall into this category. It happens because large cities are overwhelmingly controlled by democrats and have a larger democrat constituency. It's really that simple.
I thought Georgia banned sanctuary cities. Also, I know some localities insist they are not sanctuaries, but it depends on what the criteria is. They are not all as lawless as San Francisco.
