AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Republican-controlled Texas House approved a strict ban on "sanctuary cities" early Thursday, empowering local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration law against anyone they detain and threatening police chiefs and sheriffs who refuse to do so with jail.

Finally some sanity. These so-called "sanctuary cites" threaten our entire nation, calling into question our right to control immigration.

The Constitution says, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, and ensure domestic tranquility ...do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

How do you "ensure domestic tranquility" and "establish justice" when some States openly defy the authority that they willingly delegated to the Federal Government to control our borders, and the immigration of foreigners into our country, and refuse to prosecute violators of our borders, and our laws? Ask Kate Steinle's family.

Probably. And when President Trump criticizes that judge, he will be called "disrespectful" of our judicial system, and called "King" Trump and every other disrespectful name they can think of.

Liberalism is a mental illness.

It isn't a big deal, we are going to enforce the laws and make the nation more secure for our citizens. One would be kind of stupid to oppose that.

To liberals, it's a big deal. They are all for 'open borders' and allowing anyone in, because they are so 'tolerant.' After all, they believe (taught by our public schools) that we took this land illegally from its 'rightful owners.' (Dinesh D'Souza has had some insightful things to say on this wrong headed thinking by the 'liberal establishment' during a few of his engagements at colleges)

I am familiar with D-Souza. Though, I think the truth is that liberal media has fed the uneducated, which applies to many teaching in the schools, a line. This isn't about tolerance at the root, but of exploitation of these illegal aliens. If not for the financial benefit seen by the businesses and the wealthy, illegal immigration would have had the brakes put on long ago.

So, in essence, people not so bright that don't think for themselves are used by the businesses/wealthy/politicians in a scheme to keep the illegal aliens here to be exploited. Underpaid, we, as taxpayers, pick up the tab for whatever the illegal aliens can't afford after sending to Mexico last year, $26.3 billion US dollars.

If there had been amnesty without securing the border, more illegal aliens would have poured in to undercut the wages, those amnestied would have qualified for an array of public assistance benefits and it doesn't take genius to see where we end up as a nation. If some people were not so lazy, they would try thinking for themselves and stop letting liberal media make them look so foolish.
