Should Europeans apologize to the indigenous people who were systematically attacked and shoved onto the worst land? Or for writing treaties that weren't worth the paper that was used? Start with this "apology" stuff, where will it end?

That was done by the U.S. Congress back in 2009...

And way back in 1993, the U.S. Congress apologized to Native Hawaiians...

Doesn't it matter since ALL American Indians are now US citizens. Hell; an AI could run for POTUS and, maybe 1 should. Obama covered our "Hawaiian" spot in 2008

Sorry, they are sovereign nations. That's why they can do things that would be illegal for YOU.

ON the Rez, you're probably right. OFF the Rez, nope. Too; not all AI's live on a Rez and, many of the "mixed AI's" ID as either anglo white or even Hispanic.

My parents came here LEGALLY and earned their citizenship. I have many friends with Irish, Italian, German, and Polish ancestry who came here legally through Ellis Island. And guess what we are actually VERY offended when our ancestors are compared to the border jumpers who have no business being in our country. I also know people with Native American ancestry who oppose illegal immigration very strongly!!! Most Native Americans see themselves as Americans now and also want to protect our country from the crime, violence, and economic ruin caused by illegal immigration.

An illegal demanding amnesty is comparable to a convicted criminal who wants to be pardoned for his crime. Usually upon conviction, or in a parole hearing, a criminal at least pretends to be remorseful and apologetic for their crime. Illegals are brought into hearings because illegal immigration is their crime, and they are not remorseful about it.

I won't mind if the federal government apologized to the Indians, its the government who took their land, the same government that refuses to respect people's property rights and local rights btw. Also most Indians do enjoying living America as it is now. If America was never colonized, the Indians would probably be living the way they do in the deep Amazon or in tribal Africa.
