Why not just have it for people here legally. I'll drink to that!

You know where a great place to support Cinco De Mayo is? Mexico!

I wonder if they will celebrate it here or not. I know there was a BIG thing with the newspaper running a "sympathy" article about illegals here, and I learned quickly I wasn't the only one fed up in town!

When one is guilty of breaking the law, one shouldn't be celebrating anyway especially if it looks like they might be apprehended any minute. Their time will be better spent packing!

Wow, does that means they can't have a parade with legal Hispanic people?

Cinco de Mayo (pronounced: [ˈsiŋko đe ˈmaʝo]; Spanish for "Fifth of May") is a celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.[1][2]

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico.[3][4][5][6] In the U.S. the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. In Mexico, the commemoration of the battle continues to be mostly ceremonial, such as through military parades.

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is sometimes mistaken to be Mexico's Independence Day—the most important national holiday in Mexico—which is celebrated on September 16, commemorating the Cry of Dolores that initiated the war of Mexican independence from Spain.[1][7]

Really.

Too; word is Cinco de Mayo ain't very "Mexican" since it was a small war between Mexico and some other country that Mexico won. Why many Mexicans in the US don't celebrate Mexico's war against Spain I don't get.
