In a number of cases, those arrested form the backbone of the labor force for the US's agriculture industry.

This week, immigration officers arrested five apple pickers in far western New York. The men arrested had no criminal records and were not targeted by the officers, Immigration and Customs Enforcement told Crain's New York.

Rather, the men were carpooling to work on an apple farm when stopped and found to not have legal status. They were charged with immigration violations and held "pending removal proceedings."
Trump's immigration crackdown is hurting US farms with its unintended consequences

So wages have to go UP for Americans and legal aliens, that's a good thing.

If Trump's new Border Adjustment Tax is implemented, US farmers(especially from the midwest) will be caught up in a trade war. Mexico already said they will stop buying corn and grain from the US if Trump implements a new tariff. Mexico purchases a lot of corn and grain from the US.

Look at these links. Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois farmers are worried.

Trump WILL never serious crack down on businesses who hire and pay under the table. Illegal immigrants helped to construct many of his properties, including his most recent hotel in D.C.

Farmers have an agricultural guest worker visa program that they can use and it has no caps on it.

So...sleazy farmers who refused to use the visa program and instead opted for cheap, exploitable, illegal labor are now whining about losing their illegals. Too bad, too sad.

Meanwhile, farmers who use the program have no worries and are getting their crops picked.

Use Google and read the articles (including the recent one with one). Trump Tower, which was constructed with an undeserved tax exemption from NYS, had many illegal Europeans (particularly Poles) involved with its construction.

Mexico will fall further into 3rd world status if they pull anything. If we shut off the billions in remittances it would easily pay for a wall.
