Sorrry. It IS a crime.
Silly comparison. Even Breitbart says it's not a criminal offense https://www.google.com/amp/www.breit...ily-crime/amp/

Sorry, it IS a crime.
Your OWN statement say so.
"It is a violation of federal immigration law to remain in the country"
It may not be a felony and is a misdemeanor BUT, it is STILL a crime to commit a misdemeanor and are subject to judicial penalties.
If you did NOT commit a crime, how can a judge fine you or make you attend DUI classes, etc.?
If you are innocent, you would NOT have to do what the judge decries.
Misdemeanor
A criminal act that is less serious than a felony is considered to be a “misdemeanor.” While specific laws vary by jurisdiction, misdemeanors generally include such acts as disturbing the peace, petty theft, drunk driving with no injury to others, public drunkenness, simple assault and battery, and traffic violations. These are tried in the local municipal or justice courts, and carry punishments including fines and/or incarceration in the county jail.
Definition of Misdemeanor
Noun
  1. A criminal offense less serious than a felony.
  2. A minor crime punishable by a fine or short jail time.

This constant babble attempting to change what words mean from pro pro-illegals is getting old.
Well..not sure how you decided it's a misdemeanor because unless there has been a previous removal it's not a crime at all, it's a civil tort:

"Undocumented presence in the United States is only criminally punishable if it occurs after an individual was previously formally removed from the United States and then returned without permission. 8 U.S.C. 1326 (any individual previously “deported or removed” who “enters, attempts to enter, or is at any time found in” the United States without authorization may be punished by imprisonment up to two years). Mere undocumented presence in the United
States alone, however, in the absence of a previous removal order and unauthorized reentry, is not a crime under federal law.

Relax, Jeff Sessions is just getting started. We're only 100 days in and making great progress.

If a person was denied entry at the border and was turned back, Obama COUNTED that as a "deportation", which grossly INFLATED his numbers.
And of course the LSM NEVER mentions that little fact.
And when did Trump change the way deportations are counted? (hint: he didn't)

For an Attorney General, Sessions seems to be sadly out of touch. It would be easy to get rid of MS-13 if most of their members were illegals, just ID them and deport them, but they aren't, they are citizens. MS-13 on the west coast has been recruiting from prisons for the past several years. If you want to eliminate them we probably need to do something about the gang problem in our prisons rather than running around like chickens with our heads cut off asking people on the street if they are "MS-13"

Def a good start. ^^^
This is why America voted Trump. We need to clean up the Illegal problem and deport aggressively even if these same people have not broken other laws. By definition crossing a US Border is still Illegal if one does not have permission to cross.
Its called a Pass Port and Visa!
