LOL, My SIL's employee moved to a new apartment, then came to her and asked for a raise because she said her rent was more. So this thinking isn't that far out there among people who don't have a clue.

It doesn't. 5 minutes in front of a judge. Then a plane ticket

There is this data for any CA school. Go to school, demographics, race - then look at the count of kids that qualify for the free school lunches etc. Pretty simple correlation if you are a numbers kinda person. That is where the money goes.

For many it's a little more complicated than that

I think the days of government wanting illegal aliens to come here were over when Obama left office on Feb 20th.

A disgrace really . Needs to stop now .

CNN reported this week that the U.S. government spends more than $10,000 on average to deport each illegal alien, the implication being that taxpayers pay a heavy price for the removal of those in the country illegally.

But a group that advocates for enforcing immigration law says the cost of removal is a bargain.

“It costs a lot more to allow people to remain here,” says Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

How much more? FAIR estimates that the burden placed on U.S. taxpayers by the roughly 13 million illegal immigrants residing in the country stands at roughly $113 billion a year.
A little background as provided by the Center for Immigration Studies:

Quote:
Based on the NAS data, illegal border-crossers create an average fiscal burden of approximately $74,722 during their lifetimes, excluding any costs for their U.S.-born children. If a border wall stopped between 160,000 and 200,000 illegal crossers — 9 to 12 percent of those expected to successfully cross in the next decade — the fiscal savings would equal the $12 to $15 billion cost of the wall.
For the actually cost of illegal alien in our country to the American taxpayer read further below:

The fact is the border patrol can send them back within hours if caught crossing. As for being a little more complicated that is true....with millions in the country on expired or abused visas, and under Obama's catch and release program that the government has no clue where they are is a major problem.

I can't speak for other states. However, here in California, we have a "My casa is your casa" Governor, many sanctuary cities that will fight to the death against losing federal funding perpetrated by that meany Trump, et. al. Not to mention driver's licenses, free immigration lawyers, housing, medical coverage, food stamps and other social programs, anchor baby schooling and crime (think major Mexican gangs (M-13 - even CA recently busted some members), major city blight, ad nauseam. English, although California's official language, is fast being replaced by "Spanish." We have a finite amount of natural resources (land, water). On top of all this, California is running at a deficit, even though we have the highest taxes in the country. The new gasoline tax of $.12 is supposed to go into fixing the third world roads, yet we have been paying taxes for years for road repair. Guess that went into the General Fund, huh, Jerry?

I wonder what is going to happen when the American and California taxpayers bring in less than the state spends? Thousands of people are leaving California because they are sick and tired of the high cost to live here. It is time we thin out the illegal alien population before it's too late. Many are not even trying to assimilate, and why should they? They are rewarded anyway. We have enough problems without importing mostly poverty and unskilled, uneducated invaders.

I am surprised the Mexican flag isn't being flown next to the California flag. Folks, it's really bad here.

With some even if they've been here less than 2 years they can be given an expedited removal. Even still many can try and exhaust options available to them
