Remember you being in the Tucson area; you would have a higher percentage of Mestizo Hispanics as it is, who would be legal let alone US citizens.

A person born here in the USA but raised in Mexico is a US citizen even if he spoke only Spanish; needless to say, the Employer Sanctions Law would not apply if he/she kept their citizenship.

Mexico; as you and I both know, is only an hour away from Tucson whereas add 2 hours +/- additional to here.

Don't worry about AZBear, he assured me republicans in Arizona hated John McCain and would NOT vote for him in the primaries.

You might want to check the archieves of the Arizona Republic for more information.

As I recall, they have done a number of articles on the subject over the last couple of months.

If you do not believe me; I frankly do not care

I have a friend who just went out to check out Phoenix for the first time in her life. She called me a few hours ago and said...an exact QUOTE:

"I thought there were supposed to be lots of Mexicans in Phoenix!? I've seen next to none."

I swear to God.

Fence!? And how much is THAT going to cost? Am I paying for that TOO???

Hmmm.

So, I guess if somebody suggested towers with guards and high-powered rifles with night-scopes, that would not go over well, huh?

Yep. It's sure a good think nobody suggested anything THAT radical. Yep, sure is.

(Come on, they could use RUBBER BULLETS!)

I swear to God.
The 'race' component may be in play here.

Those 'Hispanics' who are White or mostly so may be more common in the Phx area and tend to blend in whereas the more 'Indian' ones; facing racism within the Latino community might be more at home in Tucson, etc.

Hispanic culture tends to be White supremacist------the standard of beauty in both Mexico and Spain is white skin and blue eyes.

Too; your friend may have been confusing the dark skinned group of Hispanics with American Indians of which there are many here in the Phx area.
